Banlung trekking, non touristic options

Option 3

2 or 3 days Virachey new explore wildlife trek/no touristic option!
Level: Medium-hard

First day:
Departure at 8: 30a.m. out of Banlung city to the Sesan river by motorbike or car, depending on the group, is a 1 hour drive, then taking a small boat driving out of the Sesan river into the Olalai river (a small river) by spending 50 minutes, get to the Kavet indigenous village where we start our trek:

At the beginning, we walk along mixed forest plantations of minority farming, taking a break to look for a tarantula to see how they live in the ground. After this two-hour walk, we get into the Virachey National Park jungle area, where our indigenous ranger will lead us for two hours across dense bamboo jungle toward the small river where our camp is. A nice panoramic view point has a bamboo pipe waterfall big enough to shower but cannot swim! We will have a little drink before bed.

Second day:
We wake up early in the morning at 5:45a.m. to trek with our ranger, following him to listen to the gibbon singing in the high canopy, and if we were lucky, we could see them, returning to camp for breakfast after their morning sounds are complete. We will trek 5–6 hours back on a different trail. Since it’s jungle, sometimes there is no trail, so we need to use machetes!

If you wish to do it as a three-day program, this would be charged. On the second day, instead of trekking back, we will trek on for 5–6 hours more to camp at another small stream where there is a deeper spot inside the giant park, so we’ll have more chance to see wildlife, and we can do a different experience of “trekking by night” along the small river for one hour before going to bed.

Third day:
If we still don’t see any gibbons, we’ll take another morning stroll. After breakfast and coffee, we will hike back for four hours over a different trail to the same village for our final meal with our knowledgeable indigenous ranger family and to bid them farewell. As a result, we will return to Banlung City between four and five in the afternoon.

Chance to see wildlife
This option trek has a higher chance of seeing wildlife compared with all other options treks ,doing more days, more chances, because it is a new, unexplored, and non-touristic area.
Anyway, it is not guaranteed that we will see wildlife, as we can’t make an appointment with them.
Between May and October, there is less chance to see all these animals.

Option 4

“Koh Pong” non-touristic cooking trekking!
(2days trek) or (3days trek)
level:Medium-hard

First day:
We depart at 8:30 a.m. from Banlung city to the Sesan river by motorbike, tuk-tuk, or car, which takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes.
We take a small boat crossing to the “Koh Pong” non-touristic village, where we meet an indigenous expert ranger who is waiting to go with us to the jungle.
Trekking starts from the village to the jungle in about 3–4 hours; our campsite is next to a mysterious waterfall in the middle of the deep jungle!
After a nice shower from the waterfall, our guides will teach you how to cook bamboo soup and have a party during dinner together!

Second day of the 2days trek:
*If you choose to do only 2 days of trekking, we will return by different trails as a loop, and our English-speaking guide will explain to you about natural resources like trees, plants, and animals if we have seen them. We will trek back to have lunch at the same village before we take our transportation back, and our tour will be finished at 4p.m.

Continue on to the 3days trek activities:

Second day:
Waking up in the morning, we will teach you to make an omelet, grill some bread, make a bamboo cup, and have breakfast together!
Our second day trek is approximately 5–6 hours, climbing up to the top of the beautiful panoramic mountain, through the deep and dense jungle, some bamboo forest, and having a look at the beautiful running steam. Our guides will teach you how to make Cambodian fried vegetables and steam rice.
After meals, we are trekking and heading to sleep at another huge waterfall, which is almost 40 meters high. You can swim there as well, then cook and drink together with our guides before going to bed!

Third day:
Waking up in the morning, our guides will teach you how to make fried noodles for our breakfast, then continue on our trek again. 3–4 hours through the jungle, some farms at the end, towards the village for our last lunch in our expert ranger’s house and saying goodbye with him.
